The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) named after the Ex-Prime Minister of India - Late. Smt. Indira Gandhi is the world's largest university. It was established in the year 1985 under an act of Parliament and is also known as the 'People's University'. It has contributed significantly to the development of higher education in the country through the Open and Distance Learning mode.
